Strengthening Book of Screws (Vol. 46)! Introducing the meaning of each number in the strength classification using "10.9" as an example in a blog format.

The strength classification of steel external threads is based on the combination of two elements represented by numbers. Let's take "10.9" as an example to examine the meaning of each number. The first "10" indicates the tensile strength, which in this case is 1,000 MPa (megapascals) or 1,000 N/mm² (newtons per square millimeter) of tensile strength. Tensile strength, as discussed in the screw reinforcement document Vol. 44, refers to the maximum stress that a bolt or screw can withstand when a tensile load is applied along its axis until it fractures. This value is expressed by dividing the load at fracture by the cross-sectional area of the bolt. So, what does a stress of 1,000 MPa or 1,000 N/mm² mean? It means that a stress of 1,000 MPa (since 1M is one million, 1,000 MPa is one billion pascals) can be applied to an area of 1 m² without causing fracture, or that a stress of 1,000 N can be applied to an area of 1 mm² without causing fracture. *For more detailed content, please refer to the related links. Isn't it the same as that? Strength classification of steel male threads.

Strengthening Guide for Screws (Vol. 45)! Introducing the strength classifications of steel external threads such as bolts and small screws.

Strength classifications can be represented by combinations of numbers or solely by numbers, as well as by combinations of alphanumeric characters. The most commonly encountered in fastening with screws are the strength classifications of steel bolts and screws. At first glance, the strength classification of steel screws appears to be a single number expressed up to one decimal place, but in reality, it is composed of two elements. In other words, "10.9" consists of the two elements "10" and "9." *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. Feel free to contact us for further inquiries.*
